EMDR Intensives

EMDR intensive sessions provide an accelerated approach to trauma therapy. Unlike traditional weekly sessions, EMDR intensives condense several therapeutic hours into a single day or over a few days, allowing clients to focus deeply on healing. This method facilitates rapid processing of traumatic memories and can lead to quicker resolutions of distressing symptoms, making it a powerful option for those seeking relief from past experiences in a concentrated format.

Unlock Lasting Change with EMDR Intensives

Accelerated Healing
EMDR intensives compress several therapy sessions into a focused timeframe, allowing for rapid transformation. This concentrated effort can lead to faster relief from distressing symptoms compared to traditional weekly sessions.

Deep Emotional Processing
Engaging in an intensive format encourages deeper emotional processing. With dedicated time, clients can confront and reprocess traumatic memories, promoting significant breakthroughs that might take longer in standard sessions.

Tailored Therapy Experience
Intensives can be customized to suit individual needs, ensuring that the therapy aligns with your unique experiences and goals. Working closely with a trained EMDR therapist, you can address the most pressing issues at your own pace.

Long-Lasting Results
Many clients report substantial, lasting improvements after EMDR intensives. By effectively reprocessing traumatic experiences, individuals often find that they feel lighter, more resilient, and empowered to move forward in life.

Convenience and Commitment
An EMDR intensive allows for an immersive commitment to healing. By dedicating time to focus solely on therapy, clients often find it easier to prioritize their mental health in an increasingly busy world.

It’s also essential for you to have appropriate self-care strategies and support systems in place.

  • It is highly recommended to talk further with your EMDR therapist about if an intensive is right for you. A few indicators that an intensive is a good option for you may include:

    • Emotional readiness: You should be in a place where you can engage deeply in the process without feeling overwhelmed.

    • Previous therapy experience: If you’ve already tried therapy and feel stuck or are ready for more rapid progress, an intensive may be a good option.

    • Desire for fast results: If you’re looking to make significant progress in a short amount of time, intensives can offer that.

    • Willingness to commit: Intensive work requires mental and emotional commitment, so be prepared for the intensity of the process.

  • No, you do not need to do anything to prepare for an intensive. Your therapist will recommend that you come as you are. If you would like some materials to possibly review before the session, it is recommended to reach out to your EMDR therapist.

  • It is possible to experience temporary emotional distress, physical tension, or fatigue during or after an intensive session, as the processing of trauma can stir up strong emotions. However, your therapist will provide you with tools for self-regulation and closure to help you return to a balanced state. It’s important for you to follow up with aftercare strategies, such as rest, relaxation, and self-compassion.
